Velstand Isles---A Modified Prosperity Challenge

Welcome to....

An isle that mirculously surfaced from nowhere, Velstand Isles is advertised as the new paradise that offers the soul peace, love, and happiness--it was almost too good to be true. A select few have been selected for an all expense move. These "lucky" ones had specific qualifications that were needed in order to be chosen.

First, only males are allowed to found a family but each succeeding heir may be of either sex. Second, they had to marry within the first four days of their cycle. Third, since they show courage in moving to an unknown location, all members of the family must choose in ALL chance cards. Fourth, to promote the "healthy" lifestyle, each founder must start a garden within their lifetime. Fifth, to complement the previous rule, all family members must not let their physical health decline. Sixth, each founder must start on a 5x5 lot. And Lastly, Velstand Isles promotes continuity and togetherness but this does not mean the past is forgotten therefore the ghosts of the families ancestors may roam freely.

In regards to offspring, all must attend the local University but there are some exceptions. Sims that do not require a degree for their lifetime aspirations may take the option to not attend. For example, a Romance Sim who wants to have 20 simultaneous lovers may choose not to attend (but then again the UNI is such a great way to acquire all those lovers!). Another example is a Family Sim who wants to celebrate their Golden Anniversary may opt out. Each heir must have at least one offspring. As I mention before, after the founders--each succeeding heir may be of either gender. Also, in order to avoid boredom, each member of the family who starts a new household is entitled to a portion of the family fortune. The rules stated here are subject to change.

(Obviously, this is not a typical prosperity challenge. To tell you the truth, I'm simply not up to starting out with several families with multiple members! Not because I'm chicken but I'm a control freak! I NEED to be able to start with a ONE founder and focus on him then get the ball rolling. It really sounds like a legacy but I really like the concept of the Prosperity Challenge. I just get BORED after a while and I figured having several founders will cure that. I will be playing this by a 4-sim day rotation. It will be really casual so don't expect great writing all the time--but I do try! Apollo, we have a problem.. (Well, no not really)

Hello again! I'm totally taking my time posting these updates huh? Pure laziness I tell you. I have played WAYYY ahead and I'm just taking my sweet time posting stuff. The title was just something that popped into my mind randomly. Yes, I know I'm weird.

Well here is our third founder, Apollo Lionel. Yes that IS the infamous pink flamingo, I can't imagine why Sims find it so much fun to kick it over. Easily Amused (EA--ha ha ha pfft), I'm afraid...or is it ADD?

Sheesh, lambasting me already. Can't a girl get a break? Anyways, lemme give you Apollo's stats:

It must be our lucky day, Apollo immediately found his dream career at the local newspaper.

Apollo being a knowledge Sim just LOVED to skill. If you haven't noticed those are actual walls behind him. Yes, I learned my lesson from the lightning incident at the previous post. Lawn-living just isn't the same these days. Sigh. Don't get me wrong..I loooovve Seasons.

"You sure are chatty today, are you hopped on caffeine again?"

Nooooo *shifty eyes*

"So your another, huh?"

"If you are referring to my status as a founder, then Yes I am one.."
"So is it fancy living yet?"

"Nope, not to be expected for another generation or so.."

I got your number, my pretty sim. Expect to be sucked right in. Unfortunately, Apollo here doesn't seem to find her attractive.

On a positive note, Apollo got his very first date that night. Her name is Starla Cox >_> (sounds like a porn star name) and they have 1 bolt of chemistry.

Apollo somehow shanghaied Starla to a make over, which I have to admit suits her so much better.

"Heee, hee, me so pretty.."

"That you are, sweetums"

Later that night, Starla left Apollo a little present. This is the cheapest gift I have EVER received.

"My momma says women don't give gifts, she says it'd be the opposite..but I couldn't help myself!"

That's maxis coding for you. Do you even have a momma?

"What you means do I have a momma!? Course I do..I think?"

Knowledge Sims are easy to please just skill them up and promotions will be rollin'

This was the first time I've ever seen this! *SQUEE* I was a bit nervous that I'd end up with some fugalicious Sim but what the hell, might as well give it a try. I had actually hoped this girl would be his match since they have 2 bolts but...

"Always glad to be a guinea pig," muttered Apollo sarcastically.

....and here we have Andrea Bendett. Looks familiar? Most likely she does. Apparently, I forgot to clear out the templates in this Neighborhood folder so some old DownTownie faces might appear.

"Huh, I was in the middle of a game!"

Loooovvve the bowling uniform, eh?

I'm totally loving this girl. She's not my typical pretty Sim but she's chock-full of moola, skills, and the two have 3 freaking bolts for one another! I wonder if this is how it always works out when someone else sets you up for a blind date? I wuvv AL.

After a make-over, Andrea looked spectacular, I like the skin she came with.

"I'm glad your pleased, she's a keeper, no?"

Definitely. Now do your duty.

After a fantastic Dream Date, Apollo got down to one knee and proposed then asked her to move in.

"I hope your satisfied with the dowry.."

"Hey! Thats my life-savings your talking about.."

Hehehe, what's yours is mine, what's mine is mine...I can finally build a decent house!

Since she was so generous with her...err dowry, I took Andrea shopping. Don't she look cute?

"Hooo, I'm actually glad to be out of that outfit! The polyester chaffed.."

When Andrea got home, the two immediately got hitched. They both didn't even have to be prompted to woo-hoo. I love ACR. Of course, Apollo knocked up Andrea. No surprise there.

Err pardon me that I don't find pixel whoo-hoo the pinnacle of romance.

..and here you have the finished product! Not so bad for a self-professed sucky house builder, eh? Yes, I know there's not windows but I always put those last...there's other bill to pay, you know.

HEY! What is this? Beat-up-on-Creator-day? (On a side-note, there in the background is Nerissa! If you haven't been paying attention, she's the wife of Amand, our resident romance-Sim!)

So far this neighborhood continues to amuse me, here is....uhh I forgot her name..but for the sake of formality lets call her Crazy Blondie. She just appeared out of nowhere and...

....knocked over our trash can! What'd we do to you, Crazy Blondie?!

"Well, well, well, Welcome to the neighborhood...and I just felt like it, okay? Mean sim here.."

"Hooo--wheee your garbage-knocking-skills got me all aflutter!"

Yep, he's a two-bolter with her, very amusing.

Classic, ain't it? Yes, Alistair got into the Entertainment Career within his second day.

Alistair went to the local restaurant after work to meet some of his neighbors and maybe find the woman of his dreams.

"D'uhhhhhh, sooo like the special of the day is..ummm..I'd like to say a Baked Alaskan! I'd like to totally see an Alaskan, y'know? I hear they stay in ice cubes!"

"Err, I'd like a new waiter please!"

Out of all the ladies in the house, Alastair heart-farted over some elder. I don't KNOW WHY I have such an abundant amount of elders walking around this custom neighborhood. Gurr.

BINGO! Pretty-babies alert! Look who just came strolling down our lane! She's THE ONE. Not to mention Alistair and Rishell here has two-bolts! Doesn't she look like Denise Richards in this picture?

After becoming fast friends, Alistair offered Rishell here a make-over. I just needed to change her hair since it reminds me of my Oh, Mother Country Legacy founder!

I love how they look so dubious before they see what they look like. Heh heh. I'd be scared too if I had to rely on my Simmies for a make-over!

After a successful date, Rishell came over later that night to leave us a present! Whoo-hoo, a useless water fountain thingie that will bring mucho simoleons! Alistair is busy skilling up for a promotion to pay any attention.

Nothing like the feeling of a bolt of lightning. Twice. Har har. I hated the camera angles in the roof-shack so I got rid of it and reverted to lawn-living. Hehe. How was I suppose to know he'd get hit by lightning in bed?

"Ahhhh! This is no-treatment for a founder! I demand a roof over my head!"

"Let me clarify, walls with a roof, PLEASE"

Get me some moola then we'll talk.

After work (with a much-needed promotion), Alistair proposed to Rishell.

"Will you have me? I don't have much but--"

"YES!"

"Will you move--"

"YES!"

Well, that went well :-)

I just couldn't bear the thought of such a pretty Sim wearing her sweats as Everyday so I had Rishell go shopping right after she moved in. I can't remember how much she brought in but it wasn't much. She made up for it with the decent amount of skills she has!

With promotions and some money from Rishell, I was finally able to put a roof..

A Santoine Affair (Round 1)

Okay, forgive this first post. I was still getting in the groove and my playing style was a bit off so there isn't much pictures to this one. Which is a shame since I thoroughly enjoy Romance Sims. Although, I didn't follow the traditional Prosperity Challenge, I still wanted to stick as close to the rules as possible. So I rolled the amount of founders I will have--which is 3 and all are male. The decision to pick all male founders is based on the fact that all my hot sims seems to be all women! Ugh. I also rolled for Aspiration and Astrology/Personality. If you have read my Legacies before this one, you know I also start out with a clean slate--custom faces, custom/geneticized skin and eyes and hair. I will be putting up a post on how to do a custom neighborhood so don't you worry!
Okay, enough chit chatting...

Let me introduce to you my first founder, this here is Amand Santoine. He is obviously an elder. His desire in life (besides having 20 simoltaneous lovers) is to start a family before he goes to the great beyond. Being a Romance-minded Sim, he always thought that there was enough time to do this but before you know it, his prime years have passed and now he's hustling before he meets his maker. He is a cancer with 6 Neat points, 3 Shy points, 6 Active points, 4 Serious points, and 6 Nice points. His turn-ons (for every founder actually--I'm terribly uncreative at this part) is Custom Hair and Make-up. His turn-off is Stink.

"Halllooo! Don't you think this shirt if fruity? I told the young'un that she oughta get me some decent clothes but she tells me that this is the 'hip' thing these days. Whatever happened to bell-bottoms and polyester shirts?"

Mr. Santoine had a lovely abode with a charming slanted roof..

"You got the roof right, hunny, where's the rest of it?"
...the land behind it is fertile and ripe for...

"....mmmMmm fertile and ripe!...reminds me of the good ol' days, why when I was a young'un I never went a night without at least 2..."
...GARDENING!...

"....oh yes! Gardening...the plowing, you know! heh heh" *wink wink wink*

Afternoon came with a bit of rain, as you can see rain is not the only thing that came around...

"...Hoooyahhh that is one sssseexxxyyy fox! Come to papa, you ripe plum you.."

Ha. You seem to need some glasses, Amand. That's a fellow elder your oogling..

"What! For shame! She oughta act her age and dress appropriately!"

*rolls eyes* (For some reason, when I made the game generate townies, a TON of elders were created..sooo annoying! I constantly had to look at their eyebrows and walk)

Amand and I agreed with one thing. His future spouse (if I ever decide to marry them) or live-in gestator will NOT be a fellow Romance Sim.

"Damn tootin'! There is only one room for a slick ol' fox in this house and that'll be me!"

Amand had two bolts for Allyn here so I decided it couldn't hurt to have them get to know each other more. Amand, of course, agreed whole-heartedly...

"...ohhh, she's so exotic, look at that skin, those eyes, that clothing, and those bre--"

I think we get the point.

That very afternoon, the two had their very first date. To my disappointment, Allyn here is a Romance Sim. But Amand didn't seem to mind...

"Gotta polish my skills, toots, she'll be useful" *wink wink wink*

After this date with Allyn, Amand felt the need to meet new people. So off we went to the local diner...
"Haaalllloo! So your an exotic too, eh? I had me one of those this afternoon in fact!"

"Pardon?"

"Are ye deaf, missy? You could borrow my hearing aid if you wants.."

Even with his 'charming' ways the ladies still think he's a chocolate-coated raisin.

"Raisin? Phhooeey...more of a hunka hunka burnin--"

Raisin on the account that your so old and wrinkly.

"These young'uns no respect for their elders--"

Yeah.Yeah.Yeah.

For the rest of the afternoon, Amand met all the local ladies. He seemed to particularly like the 'exotics' as he calls them.
"Hallllloooo, my you fill that overalls real well!" crooned Amand

"Why, thank you! What a...interesting sweater you have on!"

"Thank you, dearie. It does enhance my complexion!"

That wasn't what he said earlier..pffft..

"Hooo--yah, I knew I wasn't losing my sight, she's still hot from this angle!"

After a lame invitation to see his etchings at home (not that he even ever held a sketch book), Noelle was putty in the old coots hands.

Later that night, Noelle paid another visit but just to drop off Amand's earnings for the day. Yes, I said earnings...Amand is too old to get a decent job and if you know how to work it, presents from your dates can support you reaaallll well. ;-)

Diane was loitering all day at Amand's front step so I took pity on her and made him pay attention. To no one's surprise (really), Amand had dream date status by the end of the day.

Amand was conflicted by his choices. He had 3 women who adored him but all three were of the same nature as him! He did not relish the thought of the conflict that would serve him. His own nature was hard enough to control, he did NOT need another Romance-crazed sim in his household. These thoughts were enough to drive him out of his house and into the local bar.

"Well, missy..you managed to make me sound more complex than I am, good job! But the bottom line is that I need myself a baby maker"

What the---I assure you I'd take offense at that phrase but I whole-heartedly agree. BUT I've decided you'll be marrying your baby momma so--

"Okies!"

What?

"You've gone deaf again, I said okay.."

Oh. Really? Well that makes it so much easier...get your butt off that stool and start scoping..

Contrary to what the picture shows, Amand actually found Nerrisa here the hottest of all the babes in the land..well..the bar that is. It was just the moment that he started to approach her, his phone rang and this kid (who he met once) was on the other line. SHE KEEPS CALLING HIM. Creepy.

Amand ended up having a dream date with Nerrisa, who thankfully is a Pleasure Sim. I truly apologize for the rushed ending. I don't know why I didn't take photos!

"Pure laziness is what its called.."

Shut it, buster. Didn't I get you a three-bolter? I'm thrilled that they actually get along so well. I can't wait for the babies to start popping..

"Whoa there, missy, not so fast..."

We're going to have twins and--

"Twins! She hasn't even moved in yet!"

Pfft, a minor set back. Watch...

"So you wanna move in, hunny pie?"

"Oh, I thought it was already a done deal?"

What'd I tell you?

Now onto the baby making part of this segment

"Get out"

No need to be rude! Sheesh! YAY BABIES!

After three-freaking-tries, the two are finally expecting. Since Mr. Santoine life-expectancy is of an ant in Sim terms, I wanted to do this as soon as possible. It was amusing to have Nerrisa propose to him..

"Who wears the britches in this house anyways?"

There I've proven it. Amand is a low-down dirty-dirty fraud. What Romance Sim gets a good memory at getting engaged?

"I'm chock full of surprises, eh?"

"I'd like to think it's the woman he proposed to.." chimed Nerrisa
